Otakar Nejedlý (1883 - 1957) LANDSCAPE WITH CLOUDS IN THE EVENING LIGHT

Otakar Nejedlý was very struck hard by the scenes of the First World War in France, where he painted devastated landscapes and the graves of fallen soldiers. After returning to his homeland, he began painting the Czech landscape and tried to capture its unique character and mood. It is no different in the Landscape with clouds in the evening light, where it creates a perfect color contrast using the last rays of the day in the red clouds and the landscape immersed in fog and twilight. In 1925, Otakar Nejedlý began to devote himself fully to pedagogical activities at the Academy of Fine Arts and became its director.
