Terrine with floral handle and white icing, cracked in places, restored. The Holíč majolica factory was the first of its kind in the whole of Austria-Hungary. It was founded by the husband of Empress Maria Theresa, František Štepán Lotrinský (1708–1765). From the very beginning, the manufactory used local resources, but experts from the Haban circle, French ceramic masters and artists from Tuscany were involved in the production.
