The master Renaissance in pig skin, binding on 5 bands bears the hallmarks of Wenzel Dörffler's workshop in Wittenberg. Both plates with rich blind-print decoration in the border with allegories of human values and small portraits of ancient figures. On the front plate initials and dating 1562, clippings in blue. Excellent condition of the specimen. A total of 485 numbers. pages, 1 no. p. (rosin and typesetting notes). The first few sheets with old ink handwriting margins. In some places, period handwritten subtly underlined lines in red and brown, without disturbing the content. Publius Ovidius Naso (43 BC-17 AD) was a Roman author who wrote in Latin, improved the dactyl hexameter and created, among other things, love poetry.
