Josef Václav Myslbek (1848 - 1922) SAINT AGNES OF BOHEMIA

A study of one of the statues on the large monument of St. Wenceslas in Prague. Saint Agnes came from a Přemyslid family in Bohemia. As a royal daughter, she was arranged to marry several times not only to a king, but also to an emperor. However, she preferred to serve the Christ and to live in poverty. The work comes from the collection of the metalworker Karel Barták.
