Tomáš Císařovský (1962) ONE OF THE TWELVE HEADS

Gloomy works from 1987 can be included into the author's Nostalgia cycle. In his work, Tomáš Císařovský focuses mainly on figural and portrait themes, but more and more often the landscape also appears in his exhibitions. Stylized figures made of branches and blocks of wood appear in the paintings, which were related to the social climate of the time from which many tried to escape. Natural motifs are related to the author's wanderings in pine forests. Tomáš Císařovský is one of the pioneers who formulated and promoted work based on postmodern views in our cultural environment around the mid-1980s.
