The masterfully crafted office desk is based on the "bureau à espagnolettes bouclées" model of the important Parisian furniture maker Charles Cressent (1685-1768), who ran one of the most important carpentry workshops in France. The table top is covered with leather with gilded embossing. Leather is also on the side pull-out side desks. In fire gilded bronze framing is present around the drawers, acanthus-style decoration on the corners, one of the drawers has a secret box inside. Identical decoration is from the other side, on the corners we can see elaborately crafted bronze busts of women, so-called espagnolettes. Similar tables can be found in the world's prestigious collections, both museum and private.
