This fine example of the artist's work is an expressive, allegorical depiction of the grace of everyday life, celebrating the female figure as a symbol of life. Viktor Dobrovolný studied at the School of Applied Arts in Prague under Professor Josef Drahoňovský. From 1950 he was a member of Union of Czechoslovak Visual Artists and he primarily focused on sculpture. He exhibited in galleries and art houses in a number of Czech cities, including Prague, Liberec and Cheb. His works are represented in the National Gallery in Prague, Prague City Gallery, Museum of Decorative Arts, Regional Gallery in Liberec, and Terezín (Theresienstadt) Memorial.
