The case is formed by four panels with rich relief carving in bone along the perimeter, which portray motifs from village life. The fifth panel for the cover shows a scene from home life. The panels are set in plain metal mounts. Upholstered with fuchsia silk taffeta inside. Marked "C.F. Becker" on the bottom left of the cover.
