This print is essentially a monotype, (signed as a two-piece edition). The work demonstrates the artist's contemporary direction, i.e. the combination of several different materials and techniques used for the final print. In this case, the final image is literally found and assembled by the artist rather than purposefully created. The seemingly disparate elements thus form a kind of visual reconstruction of "remembering" as a mental process, where concrete, more or less clear fragments (a photorealistic eye or a part of a gramophone) emerge from a hazy, almost cosmic abstraction. The second copy of this work was exhibited this year (2024) at the Port 1560 gallery in Český Krumlov as part of the exhibition "BEINGS" of the Association of Czech Graphic Artists HOLLAR, of which the artist is a member. Milan Dřímal practically grew up in an intaglio printing workshop and after graduating from the Secondary Industrial School of Graphic Arts (Hellichova), he continued printing under the guidance of his father Pavel, who took over the clientele of his late uncle Pegrassi and expanded it to include dozens of artists of different generations. (e.g. Anderle, Bauch, Born, Boštík, Bouda, Brunovský, Čechová, Demel, Hašková, Pešicová, Sivko, Sklenář, Synecká, Tomanová, Vodrážka, Zrzavý). Framed under anti-reflective glass with UV filter.
