Gustav Macoun was one of the painters whose desire to paint was evident from early childhood. After completing his primary education, he studied under Alois Kalvoda and Antonín Slavíček. Spring Landscape is one of the most successful examples of his recordings of the Czech landscape with a touch of impressionism and stands out for its liveliness of strokes and authentic colour.
