Ivana Bednářová (1957) METAMORPHY

The South Bohemian painter of the middle generation, Ivana Bednářová, can be described as a learned autodidact. Her personal contacts with the painters Zdeněk Sklenář and Josef Istler provided the path to her own work. Her imaginatively oriented work is a tribute to their legacy. Since 2000, Ivana Bednářová has exhibited extensively both individually and in joint exhibitions, mostly in South Bohemia and other regional centres. Metamorphy from 2010 represents a precisely executed painting in the tradition of Czech surrealism, which the artist transposes into the 21st century.
