From 1916 to 1925 Jan Slavíček studied at the Prague Academy under Jan Preisler, Vratislav Nechleba, Max Švabinský and Otakar Nejedlý. The son of Antonín Slavíček travelled to Paris, Rome, Holland and Spain. After his father's untimely death, he continued his legacy and became a respected artist. Jan Slavíček oscillated between Fauvist colour and realistic experience.
