The two functionalist armchairs, also known as Thonet S 411, are based on the original design of Marcel Breuer's so-called springing armchair, for which W. H. Grispen designed the upholstery of the seat and backrest. After 1933, when the development of tubular furniture began to adapt to the requirements of customers who were already demanding upholstered furniture, this type of chair became a model for many manufacturers, both abroad and especially in Czechoslovakia. It was produced by all domestic companies (Slezák, Mücke-Melder, Thonet, SAB). In its modified form, it remained the longest produced pattern in the production of Vichr a spol, later Kovona, which produced it in post-war Czechoslovakia. The simple construction of bent tubular chrome-plated steel is complemented by wooden armrests. Excellent state of preservation.
