Otto Eckert (1910 - 1995) VASE

Otto Eckert - Czech sculptor, ceramist, teacher, curator and photographer. Since 1956 he was a member of the Académie internationale de la céramique (since 1967 also vice-president), thanks to which he managed to organize an international exhibition of ceramics in Prague in 1962. He concentrated more on simpler applied ceramics influenced by functionalism, but with more demanding finishes, especially layered and then scraped coloured glazes. His porcelain services designed for Expo 58 are highly valued.
