František Drtikol (1883 - 1961) RIVERSIDE LANDSCAPE

When František Drtikol left the photography studio, he devoted himself fully to painting. Its landscape setting includes lovely Czech motifs of winding rivers, rocks, broken horizons of fields and hills, often completely without figural staffing. Drtikol's landscapes show a special sense of poetics and harmony, decorativeness, movement and at the same time quiet calm. Assessed by Stanislav Doležal Art. D.
