Ferdiš Kostka (1878 - 1951) STUPAVA JUG

The large jug is a very skilful and rare example of Stupava pottery with a hunting figure. Under the ear with the monogram of an important representative of Stupava ceramics, Ferdiš Kostka and the mark ST. A significant contribution of the ceramic art of western Slovakia was the enrichment of the Haban-Slovak tradition with a new folk form, which was created by the reworking of the famous Holičská ceramics.
