Kamil Lhoták (1912 - 1990) CAR AND BICYCLE

Old vehicles, motorized tricycles and other achievements of the technical revolution were frequent themes in Kamil Lhoták's work. He loved Jules Verne and his time, so of course beautiful elegant women with hats got into the offered composition. The fascination with civilization and the modern world is intertwined throughout Lhoták's work, as he himself adds: "I have always been interested in the landscape in which nature meets civilization, the artificial landscape in which man intervenes. What is exciting for me is the tension that arises between the originality of the land and the human touch, especially the human-technology touch."
