This exceptional example of timeless design comes from the famous Viennese workshops of Josef Danhauser, who continued his father's work in interior design, especially in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. The rich pattern of the walnut wood is dominated by a play on the geometric shape of the spire, which is varied and complemented by distinctive cannelure. The exceptionally precise quality of the workmanship shows that this was a design piece of furniture highly valued at the time and intended for the most demanding clientele. Completely restored, newly upholstered.
