From the expert opinion of PhDr. Naděžda Blažíčková-Horová: "The presented painting of chamber dimensions Moonlit night with a picturesque motif of a lake in a night landscape is undoubtedly the work of the painter August Bedřich Piepenhagen. Unmistakable handwriting, sensitivity, mood and nostalgia, picturesque nature shots, cult of ruins and old trees, rocky landscapes, bridges, footbridges, foggy paths and forest paths characteristically characterize the painter's work. The romantic subject of abandoned forest nature is not a concrete shot of nature, but rather the painter's landscape idea. He found inspiration in the tufts of moss he grew outside his windows."
