Bohuslav Reynek was a Czech graphic artist, poet and translator, whose graphic sheets can be perceived as a visual transcription of poetic language. In the 1930s, he gradually moved away from charcoal and pastel drawing and began to use drypoint and etching techniques. The most significant part of Reynek's graphic and poetic work was created in the 1950s and 1960s. Reynek's estate was nationalized and he himself could only work here as a laborer. Petrkov became a kind of "pilgrimage" place where young artists and dissidents found refuge.
