Sergej Alexandrovič Mako (1885 - 1953) WOMAN AT THE WINDOW

Grigory Musatov, Sergei Mako and dozens of other artists joined the stay in Prague emigration. Sergei Mako addressed both the French landscape and the subject of women - especially portraits and nudes, which he painted under the influence of post-impressionism. The woman at the window presents a quiet and intimate portrait with strongly contrasting color tones and an atmosphere that evokes dreaming or waiting. At the back, an autentification from N. Musatova: "This painting by Sergei Mako was exhibited together with the work of G. Musatov, my father, at a joint exhibition in Paris."
