Northwestern Anatolia, Ottoman Empire, around 1910. A good quality wool carpet of prayer design on silk, the pink field is filled with the so-called mihrab (a niche in the mosque, pointing to Mecca). In the mire, you can recognize the hanging mosque oil lamp, the pillars in the style of the trees of life, as well as three vases, as well as a placeholder for the tree of life. In the myriad of motifs, the flowers of dahlias are particularly pronounced, as well as the zigzag, which represents running water. A charming tapestry for a matching interior.
