A SHIRVAN RIG

A hand-knotted large wool rug on a wool warp, featuring a variety of motifs that once made these stunning rugs famous in the world of collectors. The design is very successful, dominated by 4 cypress trees in yellow-green in a checkerboard composition. It is a collector's artefact with a wonderful maturation of natural colours that give the rug a unique character. Very remarkably, black goat hair has been used on the longer edges of the rug for reinforcement. Dimensions approx. 320x150 cm. Professionally cleaned on the face in October 2022, which has brought the wool to life and brightened it up.
