Josef Multrus (1898 - 1957) STILL LIFE WITH A DUCK AND VEGETABLES

Josef Multrus was one of the outstanding figuralists. He painted an environment he knew intimately - family members, his surroundings, landscapes and still lifes. He often chose darker color tuning, which he supplemented with contrasting color elements, especially in still lifes. The presented historicist Still Life with Duck and Vegetables follows the trend of genre kitchen still lifes, which have appeared in art for centuries since antiquity.
