Unknown author CARCASS OF A PIG

A genre painting following the tradition of Rembrandt, Aertsen, Carracci and Beuckelaer, depicting a scene from people's lives, especially in the period from the end of autumn or early winter, when animals were slaughtered in many places. An unknown painter here authentically depicted the open abdominal cavity of a suspended animal and children moving in its vicinity. Compositionally, the painting is closest to the work of Joachim Beuckelaer.
