On September 9, 1929, Henne broke the magic 200 km/h mark in Munich on a BMW 750 cc with a maximum speed of 216.87 km/h. From then on, he increased the speed every year until he reached the peak of his career on October 28, 1937, when he accelerated to 297.5 km/h with the BMW. This record stood for the next 14 years.
