PLÁŠŤ CHIRPI

A festive handwoven and embroidered women's coat in cotton, with exceptionally rich silk tribal embroidery. Ceremonial garment with so-called residual sleeves in museum quality. Young girls from various Turkmen tribes and clans wore blue or black chirpi, middle-aged women wore yellow chirpi, and the oldest women wore chirpi with a white backing, like our example. Excellent condition, only loosening at the seam in two places, the embroidery in natural silk is perfectly preserved.
