Jiří Pelcl (1950) DESIGN COFFEE TABLE

Prof. ak. arch. Jiří Pelcl is a lecturer at the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Prague, where he served as rector in 2002-2005. In addition to his practical activities, he is interested in design theory. He has designed a number of interiors of prestigious buildings (interiors for President Václav Havel at Prague Castle, embassies in Rome, Pretoria, the Czech House in Malmö, etc.). In 2006 he won the National Design Award, the Form 2006 Award in Germany, the Design Plus 2007 Award in Germany, the Czech Grand Design Award for Designer of the Year 2007. His work is represented in major European and international design museums, such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
