Tanev is one of the most important Bulgarian artists. He had 28 solo exhibitions in Bulgaria and 27 in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden, Romania and other countries. He has participated in many collective exhibitions in Bulgaria and abroad. He has worked in all genres, but has expressed his preference for landscape painting.
