The Madonna and Child Jesus bears the distinctive typology of the Italian schools. The elaborate drapery is shaded in many pastel valences, and in the background and next to the Madonna we find elements of landscape and ancient architecture. The softness of the whole scene is accentuated by the sfumato technique.
