Michal Ranný studied in the years 1961-1965 at SUPŠ in Brno with prof. Jiří Coufal, continued at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague under Prof. František Jiroudek and Jiří John. His study visits to Italy and France brought him to the theme of the seas, where he absorbed the colorful composition of the horizontal and transferred it to the canvas in a lyrical shorthand.
