The work of Alfred Justitz was based on the knowledge of painting traditions and tendencies of Czech and European painting. Justitz was a loner from the beginning, but the group Tvrdosijní was very close to him. He exhibited with them as a guest in 1921 and 1923 and became friends with Václav Špála.
