The civilist early work of Václav Tikal is without a doubt among collector's rarities. While his surrealist work is relatively well-known, similar motifs from the life of the city are rarely found. The reduction in color and shape indicates a poetic intention and a reference to civilizational elements that echo rhythmically in later work.
