He studied under Professor Alois Bouda, was sent to study in Prague, where he studied under Alois Kalvoda and Hanuš Schwaiger. In 1921 he exhibited as a landscape painter in the House of Artists, on the back of the painting there is an inscription - Union Exhibition in Rudolfinum 1925.
