Hand knotted wool carpet on wool warp. Archaic design with four rectangular segments dominated by ancient motifs, called among others "scorpion" and "ram's horns", surrounded by so-called crab elements in the inner and outer band, with traditional Caucasian flowers in the main border. Western Caucasus, c.1850.
