Jaroslav Veris was a great experimenter in the field of painting and gradually tried out all the styles of the time. The nude dates from the time when he was painting in Paris. On the reverse side is his own certificate of authenticity of the work from 1939, when he could no longer travel to Paris for political and racial reasons.
