Alois Kalvoda (1875 - 1934) RADĚJOV

The drawing shows a detail of a specific landscape situation: a barn with trees in the foreground, a building and hilly terrain in the background. According to the inscription, it was taken in Radějov, at the foot of the White Carpathians. This area in the Hodonín region was often the source of Kalvoda's landscape subjects. The work is executed with assurance and bears the hallmarks of the artist's mastery of the period that is valued most highly in his work.
