Josef Ullmann (1870 - 1922) WINTER LANDSCAPE

Josef Ullmann studied with prof. J. Mařák at the Prague Academy of Arts. At first, however, Ullmann did not begin his studies in Prague, but immediately in Munich, where he arrived in 1894 (studying at the Academy with Prof. J. Herterich). From 1900, his paintings regularly appeared on the pages of Zlata Praha and other periodicals, and he exhibited extensively in Prague and throughout Bohemia. Artistically, Ullmann was shaped by the Chittusian landscape as well as the tendencies of landscape art nouveau.
