In the winter landscape, Josef Ullmann gradually strengthens the visual component as he relaxes his brushwork, and Ullmann moves on to the technique of larger or smaller spots, spreads the colors until dry on the mat and tops in pastes, sometimes he combines oil and tempera, and achieves true technical mastery.
