Ladislav Novák was one of the representatives of Czech surrealism. His Novák frequently used technique became froissage - first he crumpled high-quality watercolor paper, straightened the crumpled paper and smeared it with diluted Chinese ink to make the creases visible. He highlighted the grooves that reminded him of something with ink and added watercolor.
