Gustav Macoun was one of the painters whose desire to paint showed itself from early childhood. After completing elementary education, he studied with Alois Kalvoda and Antonín Slavíček. He followed Antonín Slavíček all his life and painted landscapes with a touch of impressionism. A vital landscape with blooming trees believably imitates moments of early spring in the village.
