Adriena Šimotová (1926 - 2014) STILL LIFE

Adriena Šimotová departed from classic painting techniques and diverged to experimentation, especially with textile and paper. She earned attention for her unique artistic technique, which involved pressing, cutting through and layering paper to create imprints, haptically interesting surfaces, and entire spatial objects. The presented still life falls into the creative circle of phenomenological research of things and their place in our lives. Heidegger's lecture - The Thing - was probably inspired to work on the topic. The thing represents the companionship of the earth and heaven, mortal and divine.
