Viktor Rolín studied at the Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg and Munich. He created mostly portraits, still lifes and landscapes. It is the landscapes that often have a very dramatic touch - weather changes take place in them, individual streams of light touch the landscape through heavy clouds or a storm is just about to take place.
