From the expert opinion of PhDr. Nadězda Blažíčková-Horová: "Blažíček was an avid hunter and liked to record his catches. His published works include The Caught Owl, Study of the Pheasant, Study of the Wild Turkey and Still Life with Grouse. Now the hitherto well-known hunting motifs have been enriched by the impressive Still Life with Turkey. Blažíček hunted the wild turkey depicted in 1942 and painted it several times. The wild bird, lying on the presented oil, is spectacularly spread out on spruce branches and surrounded by apples. The extremely successful Still Life with Turkey, presented here, is a testament to the painter's unique talent and degree of ability to paint not only landscapes, but everything he saw around him that captured his painterly imagination."
