This is the first work where the artist used a gramophone record as a printing matrix. Although it is an experiment, it is clear that the result is not accidental. The artist's fascination with the circle, and in this case its conscious breaking, as well as the title "Goodbye" itself, suggest that this is a depiction of personal loss and the process of saying goodbye. The empty surface is as important here as the object from which the shards have been carved out, pointing into space. Although the graphic is playful, it can raise more serious questions of destruction, disruption of balance, endings and beginnings.
