Jozef Jankovič (1937 - 2017) REVOLUTION

Jozef Jankovič was looking for a way to find his place in the world and to express his inner world and the clash of these two spheres. He is especially recognized as a leading figure in Slovak sculpture. In the work Revolution, colorful and attractive spheres collide, which make reality more bearable, and dark color scales, which evoke hidden spheres. While other authors looked at the figure and abstracted it towards a geometric form, Jozef Jankovič went in the exact opposite direction - he humanized and devalued the perfection of geometric forms with anthropomorphism.
