Václav Jansa (1859 - 1913) SEASIDE LANDSCAPE

Václav Jansa was one of the Czech landscape painters who excelled in their sense of capturing atmosphere and paying attention to detail. Together with Luďek Marold, K. Rašek and L. Vacátko, he worked on the creation of a panorama of the Battle of Lipany and also captured the disappearing parts of Prague on more than 150 watercolors. The coastal landscape captures a completely different situation, where a rocky beach and clear blue water immerse into a golden haze and the landscape gives the impression of meditative silence. A stone ruin is visible on the cliff and hills are indicated in the distance.
