Alois Kalvoda (1875 - 1934) CORNFIELD

Alois Kalvoda focused on cottages in the countryside, harvest, forest landscape, atmospheric phenomena, streams and ponds. He did not participate in the melancholy concept of dreamy landscapes. He was inspired by simple motifs of the Moravian landscapes around Břeclav or Strážnice. The credibility and plasticity with which he paints the ripening ears of wheat provides the sovereign certainty of the modern painter's hand.
