Still life of a bouquet of thistles in a typical artistic way of speech of František Jiroudek, student of Vilém Nowak. From 1961 to 1970, František Jiroudek worked as a rector and professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. The work has a dedication at the back with the date: "To Mr. Křížek M.D., September 20, 72". At first, František Jiroudek focused more on portraiture, nude figures, figural composition and landscape. These were medium and smaller formats. His artworks are represented in the Czech Museum of Fine Arts in Prague, in NG Prague, in the Hermitage in St. Petersburg, in the city hall of Lyngby in Denmark and in the art gallery in Toronto.
