The object, created as a structure through layering, covering and laser cutting, is part of a series of three similar compositions relating to the latest Babylon exhibition project. It is composed of recycled products as well as layers of the artist’s own handmade abstract symbols.

Michal Škapa is one of the most distinctive artists associated with the Czech graffiti scene, part of a strong generation of writers appearing in the mid-1990s and long considered a leading figure on the scene. His quality is further confirmed by the fact that he has been able to assert his place in galleries. He is closely associated with Prague’s legendary Trafačka and for the past eleven years he has had a studio at Meet Factory, with which he closely collaborates. In his non-commissioned art he works with various media, from murals to acrylic calligraphic abstraction and airbrushed figurative compositions to site-specific installations and spatial objects. Also active as a graphic designer, he founded the silkprint workshop Analog!Bros and works closely with the label BiggBoss. He presented the Czech Republic at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai and has exhibited at a number of prestigious galleries (Prague City Gallery, DOX, Trafačka, GASK – Gallery of the Central Bohemian Region in Kutná Hora, Gallery of Fine Art in Cheb, Regional Gallery in Jihlava). In 2017 he presented the solo exhibition Analfabet at Trafo Gallery, and in 2018 he showed his work at the Babylon exhibition at the Villa Pellé.

Exhibited at: Babylon, Villa Pellé, 2018, and reproduced in the exhibition catalogue on p. 57.
